National Marine Spatial Planning for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050

The National Marine Spatial Plan, adopted by the National Assembly in Resolution 139/2024/QH15 of 28 June 2024, covers the coastal land of Viet Nam's 28 coastal provinces and centrally run cities, islands and archipelagos (Hoang Sa, Truong Sa), internal waters, territorial sea, contiguous zone, exclusive economic zone, continental shelf and the airspace above. It allocates and manages marine space among marine economic sectors while protecting sovereignty, conserving ecosystems and developing the marine economy sustainably. The Government issued the implementation plan in Resolution 37/NQ-CP of 27 February 2025.
